The contrast between society and sport plus my experience
Sport has a massive impact on our society. Whether we are cheering for a certain sports team, watching it for leisure after a long work day to unwind our brains from day or are simply just watching it just to watch it, it unites and divides us in so many ways.
Sport impacts society on so many levels whether it's socially, economically or physically. Most of the time, people watch sport for the thrill of seeing two teams or individuals compete with a vast majority of risks/challenges that present as the game or match goes on.
During normal circumstances, we can go out to a sporting event and watch it in the venue and experience it in all of its' glory while capturing moments of the experience with your phone as a keepsake and post it on social media for your family and friends to see. Why am I telling you this might you ask me? The answer is simple and quite and obvious one and it is that most people look at the event as the event, but their is a bigger picture that meets the eye. Behind that game being played, is a society of people who worked hard to make the event happen and those people do not get enough credit.
Sport uplifts society in a positive and meaningful way whether your favorite team wins or not. Being a true fan of a team, means that you have to endure the hard years and relish in the good years. You must make good out of every bad outcome, find ways to keep content with your favorite team and must remember that every game is a new game and that anything can happen from one day to the next.
When you work in a certain sport and try and help an organization, you must do whatever you can to keep humble and a levelled head. At times this can seem daunting, pressure can mount up and you can feel stressed. These are normal reactions and ones that are ok to have. Their are a lot of benefits in working in sport, impacting your society is number one for me and helping my community is forefront. Seeing people enjoying themselves and smiling is what matters to me the most. It's not all sunshine and rainbows but nothing in life is and it is what you make of it. Humans are meant to be challenged, we are meant to persevere and if we cannot, we ask for guidance or have a support system in place to help guide us in the right direction.
I am happy to be sharing my wisdom with you all and I hope you continue on the ride with me as I educate you on a number of ways to better yourself.
Bye for now. :)

Good insights Gordon. Often times we overlook the people that put so much into making sport happen and we only focus on the game at hand. A team is not only the people playing the game, it’s everyone that makes sure the players only have to focus on the game.
ReplyDeleteYes, exactly. Sport is a team effort to make it all work and the game is only one aspect of the whole experience, the delivery is a major aspect as well and the behind the scenes work. I appreciate that you enjoyed reading it. Stay tuned for more blog posts from me.
